I always enjoy reading posts about things going on in other members' lives, so I figured I'd share mine.

Torin is 2 today, and I can't help but think back at all that's happened in the past 2 years. I moved out of my dad's house to live with my future wife and her parents at the age of 19, with a part-time job and full-time school. Things just seemed to fall into my lap after that. I was offered a full-time job with benefits, which would come in handy once we were married. So I cut back on school, and changed my major. The neighbor across the street was getting his house forclosed, so he sold it for dirt cheap to the in-laws. They left us this house, which we've been slowly making our own. Now I'm closer to a huge promotion, and when I'm done with my major I'll already have a ton of experience; the wife is finding a fun way to earn money, and we couldn't ask for a better life for Torin. A little luck and a lot of hard work can really go far. Here's to another great year of fatherhood.

It's nice to hear about when things are going well for someone...it's a welcome change of pace.

Best of luck in the future. <--sounds like I'm signing your yearbook. Have a good summer, don't ever change.

hehe, selling candles in people's homes link

oh, and one of the reasons I'm even more grateful is that my parents were about our age with their first child. My dad worked 2 jobs until I was about a teenager, in addition to my mom working. We lived in a bad neighborhood in West Palm Beach, and never had anything nice. People always want a better life for their kids, you know?

thanks, man. All that was mostly money-related, and though I'm still broke all the time, I've realized I have more than I've ever had. So it was more of a re-evaluation of what's important to me.

Sometimes when I'm short on cash (shut up Ryan), life seems to be a bitch too. But, I think about what I have and things just slowly get back to normal. I found out it's important to be able to share the good and bad with someone, and we all have, or should have someone like that.
