Way back when I was in high school I went to a camp up Maine. Base camp was an Island in the middle of a bunch of lakes 5 miles away from anything resembling civilization. We took an 80 yr old man who fished on said lakes one trip leader and about ten guys out fly fishing. So we canoed for about a day out to a campsite and along the way the old man, Bob Upam, told us a story:
Back in England way back before the new world was even discovered someone spotted land across a lake, the king declared that the first man to place his hand on said land would own it. Immediately men got into boats and headed for the land. Two boats were very close, the first hit the ground and the man jumped out onto the land. The second boat being about 10 feet behind it. The man on the second boat pulled his sword out sliced off his hand and threw it onto the ground before the first man could put his hand on the ground. The second man was given the land, and everyone called him Red Hand.
After the second day both my hands were covered in blisters and were red from bleeding, I was fishing that much, mainly just practicing technique. So they called me Red Hand. Name stuck with me for quite a while too.

Some black guy called my phone once asking for shaniqua, I told him she just left with a guy named snake. He said snake? I said yeah snake, big guy had a snake tattoo on his arm. He said, I'ma kill dat ***** snake, I knew he be ******* around wit my girl. I never heard back.
