I've been looking at setting up another store integrated into the forum, just for selling t-shirts and nopistons stuff. However I am looking at doing this a little differently then in the past. Allowing members that pay to have their own store integrated into the forum. This seems like it would be nice for people who don't have a website, cart system or sell enough items to have their own site, etc.... to sell their items on the forum. Sponsors could also list their items to be sold directly from the site. For example Rob could sell his front lips via the sites store since he doesn't have a dedicated website for his stuffs.

My question is, is anyone interested in it? The reason I ask is the system is somewhat expensive to purchase, so I'd like to know if there is some interest in it. I was thinking that I would take the money I get from people who pay for a store to advertise it.

It sounds like a great idea but I wonder how much use it would get. Although its a simple way to branch out into other markets with less on you

For me it doesn't much matter, I'll be selling the same stuff i am now, it's just easier for people to buy it. The big question would be whether or not it would be of some use to the smaller vendors that don't sell enough to justify a website and thousands of dollars in advertising.

yeah, it may work though. If you got a wide variety of products in the store it may get the site a lot of traffic we dont normaly see. Could help every one involved really well if done right.

I guess my first step would be to get some commitments from people interested in listing items, I am going to let everyone who's been a member here for a while open a store free of charge to start. There are a couple billing options I could roll with, monthly fee no matter how much you sell or list or a percentage of items sold. I would prefer to go with a monthly fee, or a tiered structure, you sell $0 to $250, pay $5 per month, $251 to $500 $10 per month. That's probably the fairest way to do it.

If someone is interested and you don't want to post here, feel free to PM me.

if the fee is based on sales I cant see why it wont be good.

I dont know how much this costs to run though, only you would know that.

Initial expense would be my only real concern. I was thinking of doing just so I could have tshirt sales within the forum, but then I got to thinking why not do a "marketplace" so to speak. Where small vendors would be able to show their items have a shopping cart etc. Basically use the traffic the site already has to give some of the smaller vendors a chance and then ultimately as I begin to collect more funds I would use that to advertise the marketplace and increase traffic. Seems like it could be a win win for everyone in the long run. I just need to get some commitments from people that would be interested. I don't want to drop the cash and have it completely unused like the timeslip dealio lol
