I think it was my visitor from another state, the guy is terrible with anything electric.

So the weekend starts with my sirius reciever in my truck (i also use it in the boat) takes a **** on me. I bust to walmart, buy a new one, after rebate $50, sirius hooks it up for free.

Next I go out thursday on the boat, have a 4 month old chartplotter, $600, it *****.... Take it back to boatersworld, manager knows me by now and hooks me up as i had it too long and had no reciept, bought a new garmin... another $400 extra.

Get three xbox games in the mail, go to play them and all three are beyond playing, scratched all up, trying to buff the scratches out now, but it aint happening.

i was pretty pissed at first, but all in all i can't complain, sirius gave me a rebate of 50%, an upgraded reciever and boatersworld completely proved my theory of buying from local merchants rather then saving $10 and buying online...

99% of consumer electronics today are built so incredibly cheap that it's a miracle if you can get it out of the box without breaking it.

In some cases that miracle never happens. But yea i agree, it's pretty pathetic how crappy things have become. I broke down and bought another linksys product last year, i am now totally convinced that linksys puts a 13 month self destruct mechanism in their crap, it's 4th or 5th item I have had **** on me within 3 months of the warranty running out.

The small sirus receivers are problematic. I think its the heat they generate.

Yea i took this one apart it has some serious heatsink action going on, not sure why it crapped, but oh well i ended up with one of the "replay" ones, I like it ok, but the buttons are a bit smaller then my starmate.
