thanks. our program is only 6 years old or so; it began in 1998 with a few aggies that went to detriot to watch the competition with our faculty advisor. after seeing it, TAMU FSAE began, and we were rookie of the year in '99 with 14th place and a 600 lb car, LOL.



we are starting to turn people away from the class it's grown soo much. all leftovers and underclassmen have to "volunteer" to help out and join the SAE club.



maybe in 10 years we can branch out to something else in addition to FSAE, if we're big enough...



either way, all it takes is a group of committed students, lots of free time, and a willing faculty advisor that expects the program to succeed and is willing to help out. sponsorship money and parts doesn't hurt, either.



try to get one started at Iowa.

 

i think we've been aorund since 99 as well... There are a lot of teams to date. there are more teams then there are spots for registration for the compeition in May in detroit.
