Xbox 360 is backwards compatable.

I watched the video for the game, it's pretty clear at some points and fuzzy at others, time will tell if this is just a beta thing or if it will be like that in the final product.

Remember when CD roms first came out and developers scrambled to fill them up with anything, anything at all? Dunno if development teams can cram too much more onto disks at this point, give them a few years.

PS3 is fairly impressive, but MS has the jump on them and has live fully set up something that Sony has never been able to do well, ever. Period. The only exception is Everquest and that was pre set up and they've done a fair job of wreaking that as well. Dunno if Sony has learned their lesson or not.

It's MS guys, first try, second try, third try, they'll get it sooner or later.

Anyways yeah I'll probably wind up with at least two of the three systems if I can swing it, allthough I still don't own a PS2.

quote striaght from J Allard, corporate vice president and chief XNA architec

He then moved on to the 360's high definition capabilities, and how the console will usher in what Microsoft is calling the 'HD Era'. "The big shift as we move into the HD era of gaming with Xbox 360 is that the community itself is going to be able to leave more of a lasting impression."

Then Jeff Henshaw, executive producer of digital entertainment for Xbox states...

"Every single game is Xbox Live aware. And you'll be able to go to the Xbox Live Marketplace right there in the Xbox 360 Guide. It's going to totally revolutionise how we think about shopping, downloading, trying, buying and playing new downloadable content."

The 360 will also come with interchangeable faceplates, as explained by Henshaw: "We'll have custom faceplates that you can buy, just like your cell phone, and you snap them onto the console to change its entire look."

and fyi blu-ray discs are ovverated, sure they are greta but the recorder costs 3800 and a blank disc cost about 25 bucks right now.

IMO nothing has even come close to Live for Speed in terms of realism, and online play is incredible, we really should start a nopistons event sometime, but noone else seems interested . The graphics aren't nearly as impressive, but here's a screenshot anyway:

hmm, that game looks interesting Mark. got a linky? i would give it a whirl when I get the chance.

Sorry RD, I first read 360 would not be backwards compatible. They would be STUPID if they did not. People still want to play the old games. Hell, I still play Final Fantasy 7, and the original Crash Bandicoots. The reason ones have sucked, they lost the edge, or just got beat out by Jak,RAK,and Sly.

I will have all 3 systems. Just wondering what the prices will be. They will need to keep it under 500 bucks regular consumer wise. But if it really impresses me, I could see paying up to 1k for the PS3.
