I strongly encourage everyone not to make any purchases from Best Buy. I had the worst service ever when I contacted their customer service department.
Here is the story: I purchased a Gateway laptop from Best Buy in late May. I made one significant payment on it in June. I was out of town for business during the month of July. Therefore I was unable to get my bill in on July 31. I called the Best Buy customer service department August 2 when I got home. The customer service representative told me the $35 late fee would be removed from my bill, and I should call back in 10 days to make sure it was off. I get a statement today on August 15 that I still have a late fee. So after seeing that I called the customer service department and the representative told me she would not remove the late fee. She also told me the representative I talked to the first time never told me that it would be removed. I then asked for the manager on duty. He was very unhelpful and also told me that he would not remove the late fees. He stated that in the contract I signed I would be charged these late fee. Which I completely understand. My problem is that one representative told me I would not be charged the late fees and now they are charging me. So as of tomorrow I will no longer have a balance with Best Buy nor will I ever buy anything from them. I cannot believe how poor service has become. I mean every purchase I make from them is $1000 or more. I guess $35 is more important than selling a $2000 T.V. So I strongly encourage people not to purchase anything from them. |
Best Buy sucks, I go to where they let you bargain them down- PC Richard
only time I go to best buy is if someone I dont really know happens to get me a gift certificate there, otherwise everyone else gets me Home Depot or PC Richard |
you were talking to the credit part not the best buy retail you buy from. you can goto the store and complain they will probably give you a gift certificate
|
never mind the late fee, its when they increase the rate to 29% thats when its a problem
|
Thanks Vosks might try that. Then I wont get another thing from them.
its less hassle but yeah you can get a better deal haggling there. you need to know what you are doing though and look angry like rob |
I hate best buy and I hate Circuit City, I can never get anyone to help me in either, given the choice I go to best buy cause I know someone there.
CompUSA has good special prices, but their return policy sucks. I had three laptop mice break and they would only exchange them, they wouldn't return them. fags. |
I buy from the same guy at PC Richards for the last 14 years or so, I have his cell number and call him and harass him ahead of time I generally buy things before they come out and go on display, the haggling process usually involves me calling him some names, him having to take a ciggerette break, then him making a few phone calls to get permission to sell it for that price, lol |
I no longer like Best Buy. I like circuit city more. Best Buy has way too many rules, the employees are REALLY snobby, and they don't give a **** about customer service.
I went there yesterday actually. I asked one of the guys if he could install a head unit into my wrangler, and he said not until 5pm, so I went across the street(LITERALLY RIGHT ACROSS THE ******* STREET), and asked if circuit city would do it. They said that they would not put ANYTHING in that you did not purchase from the store. So I was fine with that, I understood. I then went BACK across the street to Best Buy, and told the guy in Auto to go ahead and install the head unit for me. "We don't take any work after 3pm." WHAT THE ****? I was completely baffled, and told the guy that he was a complete idiot, he just contradicted himself, and I will never go there for anything again. I will going to a person that installs radios privately, and he will probably charge me less than both Circuit City and Best Buy would. The guy I am going to installs security, head units, systems, etc. for our dealership. ******* IDIOTS!!!! |

doing your own work on new cars sometimes scares people though
it's a new car, i don't know where to start, there are no install kits, or wiring harnesses to buy. at least where i looked for them that is. circuit city ain't got ****, wal-mart does not have it either, and best buy won't sell it unless you let them install it. i also thought about the new car thing also. not voiding any warranty at all, just people are petrified of them. |
radio shack sells the adaptor harnesses
https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif you're a genius rob, thank you. i will be heading there in the morning. yay, there is hope after all. we went off topic, best buy still sucks! |
I use this thing called a multi meter.... that tells ign power, bat power, ground and usually the speaker wires match to some degree. purple and purple with stripe one speaker, etc, etc...
It's fairly simple. i can't remember ever having a deck installed. |
I have installed a head unit before, I did in my 94 F-150, it was very simple, but the only thing that was stopping me was the adaptor and install kit. Now I can start on it this week.
|
I'll buy simple things from best buy; a wire, an adapter, a video game. I will try not to buy any expensive things from them ever again. Circuit City was a lot more helpful, and I like how you don't need the receipt to return something, they keep all your past purchases in the computer.

ive bought a few bigger things from best buy and have never had a problem. i did miss a payment once (by a couple of days) and i was hit with all of the interest that i hadnt paid (was one year no interest as long as you make the $10 a month minimum payment, and i was paying a lot more than that). when that happened i just dealt with it bc i knew that would happen if i missed or was late so i just payed it off the next month.
credit companies arent like banks, if you make payments in advance you still have to make one the next month. Best buy makes a lot of money from their credit division bc they will sell you stuff on credit with no interest (which is great for advertisement), but if you miss one payment you get all of the interest that you wouldve had plus a high interest rate. usually credit companies will take a late fee off the first time if you ask them, but not usually after that. Which to me, having a business mindset, its totally fair, thats how they make their money and you agreed to it. |
best buy wanted 30 bucks for a 6 ft. usb cable !!!
