I wouldnt buy unless you are going to rebuild it
or they give you some good gurantee including the labor on the engine replacement. |
You should send it to Kevin at Rotary Resurrection. I hear he does excellent work for reasonable prices.
The site is here. |
Only if you rebuild it FIRST
|
i'm happy with mine, although in the big plan it wasnt supposed to last this long

i dont think its in my best interest financially to spend 2500-3000 on a car that as is i can maybe get 1700 ish and then not be able to get close to 5000 for....if i can spend 1500ish i might be able to get 3500-4000 ish and that just seems to make more sense...if i cant get my money back, i might s well hang onto it and put it towards a third gen.....if i could get any peace of mind with a jspec, that'd be great...and it seems like some have......i just want to make sure tat im one of em and dont know how...it cant just be luck of the draw...how about compression testing before installing...is that not a definite indicator of a healthy enough engine????????
|
compression is only a peice of the puzzle. you still dont know if it will use oil or coolant

"how about compression testing before installing...is that not a definite indicator of a healthy enough engine???????? "
4 months ago, Reese and I installed a GOOD COMPRESSION 13BRE in his 10th AE. < 2 weeks later he was cruising down the interstate (not into BOOST at all) and it lost compression in the rear rotor. |
causing one bdc to go from tehas to south carolina

both of my jspecs had good compression
they ALSO had JSPEC water injection READ BLOWN COOLANT SEALS https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif |
ok im starting to get te idea...now how about kevin at rotary resurrection...seems like a more reasonable rebuild....will i get a bargain or what i'm paying for? if something sounds too good to be true....he's talkin bout 1200 for a rebuilt s4tii....sounds like 4-500 more than a jspec....but cheaper than 2500-3000....hows about that option????????????
|
You get what you pay for
If you want a inexpensive stock engine to last a year or two RR is fine |
sell the car to Vosko, he buys anything
or sell it as is or try out that Kevin guy, he cant be all that bad, then sell the car. |
I don't mean to direct you to the other forum...but if you do a search for Kevin over there I'm sure you'll find some more info on him and his business...Any person I've heard of is happy with their rebuild...
good luck https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
