I managed to score some tickets to the upcoming NASCAR race this weekend in Phoenix. One of my buddies is good friends with one of the VPs at Beaudry RV, so we ended up scoring some cold and hot passes as well. Should be sweet, get to stay on the infield in a brand new RV and watch Juan Pablo Montoya race.



And as an added bonus, i just read this press release:



"Eddie Van Halen, the most influential rock guitarist of the last two decades, will be an “honorary race official” at Phoenix International Raceway, and will unveil a special Fender Stratocaster guitar to be given to the winner of the Subway Fresh 500.



Van Halen will meet with the media at PIR Friday afternoon. He recently made headlines by skipping his band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and by canceling a long-awaited reunion tour with the band’s original frontman, David Lee Roth. EVH has led the rock & roll life, battling cancer and going through rehab in recent years, as well as a tabloid divorce from wife Valerie Bertinelli. He also raised eyebrows by composing the soundtrack for an X-rated movie."



Ill be there all Friday and Saturday, though I have no idea what else EVH will doing as an "honorary race official." LOL

 

So he skipped being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but he's going to make an appearance at a Toilet Bowl Race?
