Holy ****! When the news story said he was doing a burnout I was thinking WTF did he do wrong! It didn't mention he was doing a rolling burnout at 80 mph or so!

Morons. Who organizes an event that has a drag car doing a burnout without a safety barrier between it and the crowd?

And get this! It wasn't driver error or general stupidity that resulted in five (update--seven) people getting killed. "The release said the driver was performing an "exhibition burnout" - spinning the tires to make them heat up and smoke - when road conditions caused the car to lose control, striking a utility pole and then veering into the crowd."

It was the road conditions! Stupid Road!

An absolutely senseless tragedy that will obviously not help the public image of drag racing.

they should put some kinda barriers on the sides of the strip especially with Professional drag cars (1000+HP) running

this will now be used as an example by LE of the dangers of racing

Yeah. I just now watched the video. That was beyond stupidity. The driver should be in jail.

Pictures of the car in question

Grim reaper painted all over the car, oh the irony.

In other news, all the sites relating to this car are down including the AMS Pro Mod site. Seems like damage control.

No charges have been filed??? I see a huge lawsuit coming. All that money that was supposed to go to charity is going to end up with lawyers and paying damages.
