I'll start.

16 years ago my cousin let me borrow his 911T for a day. It had a 2.7 litre engine in it prepared by Black Forest Racing the car had full racing suspension, headers and open exhaust, it was very loud, it also had a set of Yoko A-008R's on 15" Rims. This was a track car on the street. My cousin was a driving instructor at Moroso and taught the agrssive driving course Porsche gave to its new 911 owners.

It handled like a go kart and was so fast that I could let a Z-28 or 5.0 get a 1/2 to full interesection lead in a red light race and I would fly by them like they were standing still.

I took it up to 150 on the interstate in Ft. Lauderdale. Fastest I had been in a car until I got my RX-7.

I was getting braver and braver with exit ramps taking them at 70+ MPH. I was doing about 85 down a ramp off of I-95 heading onto Yomato Rd. West Bound. I looked over at the traffic looked back out in front and was deep into the curve about to run off the road. I jerked the wheel really hard and the car oversteered. I let off the gas (HUGE MISTAKE) and tried to coutersteer it. It snapped steered the other way and I suddenly became balast in the drivers seat.

I punched the brake as hard as I could and pushed the clutch too.

I did a 540 down Yomato missing cars by inches. I ended up in the middle grass median. Not a scratch to the car. I let out the clutch and stalled it. LOL. Restarted, pulled up to a red light adn had a Caddy Vert pull up full of people cheering that, that was the coolest thing they had ever seen.

I wasnt sharing their enthusiasm.

I told my cousin what happened and he went in to eplain how to handle a rear engine RWD car in an oversteer situation. He never got mad. I just talked to him the other day he lives in NYC now. I want him to come to an autocross and Co-Drive with me. He used to tear it up back in the day in the Autocrosses too.

Looking back.. I was going way too fast. More car than ability I had no clue what snap steer was or how to correctly recover from oversteer with a Rear Engine RWD car. Let alone any car. I am glad my cousin was so cool.

Do trucks count?

The one night I was coming home from my friends house. It had been snowing so I was ******* around in 2 wheel drive. I would punch the gas and have the rear end kick out then let off and correct it. I did it a few times before I couldn't correct it in time.

I cut the wheel to the left the *** end just swung around like a pendulum, So I cut it to the left to counter but I turned too hard and it swung around the other way I tried one last time to counter and thats when i slid off the side of the road hit the curb and had the right side of the truck pop off the ground.

I sat there for a minute wondering what the hell just happened when i realized I was facing the opposite direction I was traveling in. Just as I see a tow truck drive right past me. I then get a call from a friend that was in front of me asking what the hell I was doing cause all he saw was my headlights swinging back and forth across the road.

I drove the rest of the way home in 4 wheel. Luckily it was an empty industrial road.

i was taking a turn near my house, i took the turn about as fast as i thought the car could take it (might have been a little faster) and it was my first time really driving a rwd car, so when i was coming out of the turn i put my foot into it a little bit more, which was just enough to brake the tires loose. i tried to countersteer to get it to straighten out (was a small two lane road with a center divider). but anyways, i wasnt quite good enough, and my rear wheel hit the curb, and then the front one did. scraped the wheels up pretty good, the rear sus was kinda messed up and it broke the axle on that side. im not sure how exactley i hit the curb (wheter the car was straightening out or if i was still moving over that way too much)

Some buddies and I went cruising our senior year in HS. We decided it would be cool to do an interstate run.

135+ for a little while. Scariest and most exhilirating thing I've ever done.

I was messing around in an industral park with the FD. Taking corners with oversteer and such. I was doing pretty good and was driving at a fairly high limit. I went into a turn a hair too hot, hit some gravel **** and spun into the grass. When i stopped i was about 2 feet from a tree.

No longer do i mess around in the car like that...

I think thats pretty much it though, no more close calls really...

does doing 165+ on the highway count? (yess...)

one of the most heart stopping moments was when we used to go racing up in the mountains and we were going back home all in a row. so i come around this blind corner and theres koji in his white fc BACKWARDS in my lane, i look in the mirror and theres the higdagon right on my bumper, i dont even remember thinking about it but we just passed koji in the other lane.

stuff like that is why i dont go up in the hills with the group anymore!

Where do I start?

I don't know how to drift, but something always interested me about it so whenever I get a chance to practice, I don't miss it.

At work we pretty much have only FWD cars so there's no drifting involved only handbrake powerslides which are fun too. One night on my way to grab some food in a brand new Dodge Neon SXT, slight rain had fallen and I figured I couldn't break anything on the car so I went for it.

Nothing major at first, only pulling the E-Brake for a sec to see what the car would do. Then as I turned into the parking lot of a Wendy's I pulled it and held the brake for a second as I turned the wheel. Needless to say, I spun out like a **********er and ended up facing the way I came in.

I was scared shitless, the car was unharmed, and nobody saw it since it was pretty late and dark outside.

Also, a few weeks ago coming from work in the Civic, rainy night as well, I pulled the E-Brake accidently to far up trying to get my CD Player out from under it, it must have locked the rears up for a good 3 seconds which felt like eternity. I spun out the same way I did with the neon but on a congested 4 lane street. I hit the clutch and luckily didn't stall the bitch and just quickly turned her around. I keep my CD player in the glove box from now on.

I've got a million of these stories.
