so our moron IT guy shows up yesterday, and takes our perfectly working network down, so he can install XP on some of our machines (he doenst know how to admin windows 2000, ), and in so doing i have no calculator, internet, parts catalog, email, he lost all my cheat sheet pdfs, i cant get to the fax server to do P&A's (price and availability, one of our service writers, can add 100+100 and get 50, so we had a little speadsheet that adds it up for him).

so i spent most of the day today getting my computer to work as well as it did on tuesday.

i'm mad because we prolly PAY for this guy, when our CARWASHER knows more about computers....

i just cringe when i hear that such and such is a friend of the owners.....

Maybe you haven't got the required clearance level. After all, they can't let just anyone look at that stuff!

well the problem there is that you guys use outlook :P

i think they're in the process of installing the "install virus now" button to make it even easier for people to infect their computers

Easy fix, hire someone that uses Linux, make all the servers Linux.

That way, besides being cheaper, more stable and more secure the person providing IT for them HAS to know their **** to even work on the network.
