Actually I do know what I'm talking about... I thought episode 1 sucked because it didn't follow the style of the 4,5,6 which really pissed me off. It was geared towards little kids with that jar jar binks character, that entire race was completely useless and took away the sincerity and respectability of the movie. I also couldn't stand that kid, but they couldn't really help that part. And Maul was actually quite powerful. Have you read a book on him like I have? I doubt it. Lucas got old and got soft, that's what happened to episode 1... i'm going to see 2 tomorrow and then we'll see what happens.

 

Well, went to see it again last nite. And even though I fell asleep, I was awake for all the fighting scenes, which by the way, were awesome.



All I got to say is if you can drive to a theater that is showing in digital format, go. It looked 10 times better. and sounded 20 times better.

Not seen 2 yet, I don't have much hope for it but will go see it...



1 sucked.



1st time I saw it, it was pretty good



2nd time I saw it (still in theater with some other friends) I started to notice the lack of a real plot, the lack of anyone being able to act. Heck even the good actors were given lame lines and the like.



AND the kid that played Anakin really really really stank for that part. Robotic till he had to read a line then out of place when he did.



Natlie Portman can act? Has anyone confirmed this? Standing around staring, reading lines in a monotone with too much force is not acting.



Jar Jar Binks. Kill him. STUPID character. STUPID lines. The one half way amusing scene with him with the droid attached to his leg shooting people was a direct rip off of an old bugs bunny cartoon concerning a bull with a rifle.



I guess the fight scenes were OK, but as I practice Kendo I've got some gripes.......



I caught the last half of the movie on TV a few days ago. It was really really bad. I'd rewatch the other three movies, but wouldn't rewatch episode one.



The only redeeming quality I could see to one was the fact that they used Ian McDarimd (I think is how he spells it. The Irish pronunciation is nothing like it looks btw) as Palpitine again, plus Anthony Daniels as C3P0.



I think Lucas has lost it.

 

i thought episode 1 was aight. Jar jar binks was wak, but wut can you do. i guess they trying to attract a new audience. they needed ep1 to be wit all the talking and crap like bigtime said.



im prolly gonna hit up eps 2 this weekend.. lets see how that caca is.

 

The talking would have been fine if the diaglog had meant anything or was intresting to listen to. Such exciting lines as:



"Oh nooo!"



"Mesa stuck!"



"Spinning, that's good trick"



"He is the chosen one!"



"Now WE wil DisCUSS a nEw teaty"



Bleh!

omg episode 2 was sooooooo bad... it was worse than a cheesy ******* ****... I think that they hand picked to two worst actors out of the pool to play the main characters... I mean give me a ****** break george you are killin me!!! How about the scene with the fireplace? everybody in the theatre was chuckling at how bad it was. no exageration... then this mexican guy started imitating **** music and then after that it was all over... complete roaring laughter... I don't think there are words to describe how much natalie portman sucks at acting... and anakin? he looks more gay than he does straight I'll tell ya that much... the fight scenes were cool and that is definitely the only reason to go see that flaming pile of dog **** they somehow captured on film. . I want my 5 dollars and 25 cents back (student discount). the real obi wan kenobi (Alec Guinness) must be turning over in his grave @ the mockery that is being made of the first star wars movies. Timothy Zahn needs to take away george's right to have any say in what happens to the star wars universe. I could rant on for hours about how poorly that movie was done. I think george needs to get back on the drugs he was taking in the 70's and pull himself back togeter... sigh.... I guess that's enough of a rant for now...

 

i went and saw episode 2 yesterday at the 4:30 showing .the movie was good and the theater was empty but the next showing would have been completly packed you should have seen all the people. I just think the movie would have been a little better with some sex in it anyone else agree?
