I'm proper fucked. (if you don't get the reference, watch ******)

The Durango driver that hit my TII didn't have his insurance info with him, and the local PD hasn't gotten me any info from him yet, and it's been almost a week. He lives in IA but the truck was registered in MI. I assumed he was an ISU student, but I don't see him in the system. So, I'm thinking, what are the chances he gave the police some false info? He said he didn't have his license or anything with him, so he may have even provided a false name. Can I find anything out using the VIN for the Durango or his license plate #? Since I didn't have collision on my car, my insurance company isn't going to help out, so what should I do? I can talk to a lawyer through my school, but I don't know if that would do me any good. Even if I take him to court for the damage to my car and win, I doubt I'll ever see any of the money. Judge Judy?

What does this have to do with Germans again?

And I'd find a way to use the info you have (LP, VIN) to track him down. Nail the bastard.

if you can't, then the cops could always find out who the registration/vin is registered to, and the DMV would also have the address. Assuming he didn't steal/borrow the Durango.

if you have the license plates you can usually find the owner of the truck. you may want to bug the police, get them to actually do something

Took me a minute, but I got it. I didn't remember the german reference at first.
