Speaking Of Tanks....

Why not take the tank out yourself and drop it down to them. IMO welding is probably the best solution, a better idea than filling the tank with water is to fill it with exhaust gas or a co2 fire-extinguisher - The danger with petrol is not the liquid, it's the fumes, so if you can get rid of them you're set.

[quote name='venomrx7' date='Jul 22 2005, 11:16 AM']yeah. clean the engine bay at a diy car wash, then crank it and watch for the exact place that the oil comes out.

thats not a good idea at all.... think of it this way, if somethings comming out, **** has to be getting in, so your spraying the area with highpressure water.... i'll let you figure the rest out.

you know how hard it is to get water to go into a place where oil is leaking out of?
even if by some miracle it did get in there, a tiny bit of water wont hurt anything
BTW- not all cars have oil cooler let alone oil cooler lines

Rob's right. It would be damn near impossible to get the water to go back into where the oil is leaking out of. it would have to be at the PERFECT angle for some ammount of time to force the oil back. Not going to happen.

you said your self goto a carwash, and it would take some force, a pressure washer at a car wash is what 1700psi, i think that would do it. if you want to go and to it on your own go ahead, but i sure wouldn't go it on my car.

If you're smart, you can do it, but I guess its too much for you to handle.
Its 1700 psi at the nozzle, but that disapates VERY quickly, for example you can hold your hand about a foot from it and it doesn't cut your finger off. If you put a bag or something over the fuse and relay boxes, there is nothing that doesn't get hit when you drive your car in a rain storm.
I've done it with every single vehicle I've owned when I do a full detail on them, or if I'm about do do some serious engine work. clean engines are easier to work on.

maybe my sentra was special then, it leaked oil like a sive, didn't have to change the oil in 2 years, i cleaned the engine once, went to start it and it wouldn't do ****, drained the pan, and lots of water, put new oil in waited a while and it started, that was because of the front main seal.
