Yeah that price would make me rip my hair out.. I paid $1500 for my Dell, with a 2.4 GHZ P4 and 40Gig hardrive, cd-rw/dvd 256mb ram.. so the Sony you mentioned seems better.. But the price is a bit unnerving..

Ok.. so does anyone know where I can get a good laptop for cheep? I wasnt in the market for a DVD burner or anything. Just want one for my wife so we can keep in touch a little easier while im in the states.

i just bought P3 Direct 1120 one...its pretty loaded and cost me 2136 with 3 year plan....but thats loaded with a lot of goodies
they have a lot of brands there and a big assortment from nothign laptops - best laptop ever

I paid around $1,000 for my Viao a year ago, it was a top of the line model then. Work's great - btw. We constantly buy new Viao's for our company at those prices. Laptops, unlike desktops, are still profitable for most companies. I wouldn't be too surprised by that price. Go for it.
