Some Useless Trivia About Our Beloved Cars
#1
I have been reading some books on the rotary engine and the RX-7's in particular.
Did you know that the word Mazda translates to "god of light" in the Persian culture, and that Westinghouse first used the term as a name for an automobile lamp?
And what we now know as Mazda was actually called Toyo Kogyo which means Orient Industry. They felt they should Americanize the name. The founder was Juriro Matsuda but the name Mazda did not come from his name.
Just some useless trivia for fanatics....
