People who were paying attention recognized all of these arguments as ones that had been applied to firearms. Those of us who know about firearms realize the stupidity of these arguments, yet some folks continue to fall for them. I wondered (after debating some schmuck named Milt [hence the name] on USENET) if people would lap it up if it was applied to something generally accepted by society, like power tools.

I don't know what I found more troubling; that P.T. Barnum was right, or that our society has become such that M.I.L.T. would actually be a conceivable organization. Hell, a few of you (and you know who you are, you dorks) even SUPPORTED the idea! What the hell are you people thinking?
Anyway, the web site has plenty of clues, like the kitchen table tool man having two left hands, spokesmen named "Blaque N. Decker," obviously retouched photographs of tool injuries, and the like. In the words of Todd Rundgren, "If it's stupid enough- it's cool."
