jailbreaking is alright, but apple's building up info on jailbreakers, they've already documented the foundations of a massive lawsuit... even if it's baseless or never happens i prefer to just avoid it, apple likes to go to court.
it has gotten easier to do but the possibility of bricking it is still there, plus do they even have a full 3g jailbreak yet? i thought they never cracked the baseband on it, or maybe thats just for unlocking another part of the phone. With iphone dev tools your phone is basically jailbroken anyway, you can load and compile apps from you pc right to the phone, no itunes involved.

i had my touches jailbroke, i doubt i'll jailbreak the iphone, plus i'm running 3.0 so i would definitely wait until the final 3.0 is out before i jailbroke.
I only have one bug in 3.0 beta 5 that is pissing me off, the app icons on newly installed apps don't appear.

Yea there is a pwns jailbreak out there for the new firmware. I did mine about a month ago so I could cheat at iMob. Got to lvl 1000 in a few hours. LOL
I don't know. Personally if Apple wants to sue the **** out of some of these guys providing 3rd party apps. I say let them. I don't think it's going to amount to **** and good luck stoping the rising tide of people willing to toy with the device they legally own.

my point wasn't that it couldn't be jailbroken, but that it would be a pain in the *** every two weeks when the new beta comes out, restore, upgrade, rejailbreak, PITA. i think it would be pretty hard to mount much of a lawsuit, i just haven't jailbroken mine as it pretty much does everything i want.

yea i dont see apple every really doing anything about it, I just like to avoid possible digital legal battles, probably because of the RIAA fear campaigns. I've considered jailbreaking a bunch of times maybe i'll jailbreak my 1g iphone when i have my new one, just to see what its like.
