Bent rods, burned bearings and push rods through the hood are some of my favorite things...for someone else to deal with.

Forced induction placed on an engine that wasn't designed for it will spell disaster, upgrading existing components on the same engine still spells disaster, by surpassing the engineered limits of the engine, imo.

Chip, intake, and exhaust are about all I would do to a stock engine without rebuilding the engine in order to upgrade it's internal components, so as to handle the upgraded bolt-on's.

And, even though this thread really isn't about an engine swap per say, keep the V-8's out of RX model cars! Putting a V8 in an RX is like actually banging your hot cousin, some may have fantasies about it, but the moral and social implications keep you from doing it.

its not the modifications, its the person who thinks they can be Joe Tuner and tune the car because they have access to a laptop or they download someone else's map.

It doesnt matter if its a RX7, Mustang, or a Kia, if the car is not maintained and treated right it will go.

As for the Audi, go for it, I dont think your wife will be abusing the car and for the times when you want that little bit more go it will be there.

Or trade the thing in for the A6 4.2 if you want more power.

My buddy in WA did that with his 89, he got about 6,000 miles on it, but he beat the **** out of it.

It was 'pretty'.
