So How Do You Prepare/take On A 12-24 Hour Drive..
#1
Hey,
I was reading about some of you fella's driving xxx miles to get to an event or a car and such....
And I just thought it'd be cool to hear of what you guys do, when you are alone, or with fella's, and how you work it out.
As for me:
Twice a year I drive down to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit a friend I was supposed to stay down and live with after HS. The trip is about 10-12 hours from NY and I normally go with a family or friends:
So usually the trip is divided. But last time I had to take the trip on my own....for 12 hours. And it's I-95 THE WHOLE WAY.
I have a LOT of music, but it got very old after a while. Couldn't decide on loud/soft/acoustic/etc. Then I tried to think of a game to play with road signs but they all just pissed me off. And I notice I always look at the tripo to see how many miles it's been...when I see I've only gone another 10...it sucks. lol.
I like to travel overnight. 9pm-9am. The sun and the weather changes are annoying on the drive down, and the dark sky and sunrise is awesome to see as you drive.
Let's hear it.

This isn't really a prep thing, but when i do long drives I gotta hop out of the car every couple of hours or so, sometimes more if I am sleepy, keeps me from going insane, even if it's at a rest stop or something.

i did a little 24hr stint from jersey to the keys.
my one friend and i.
we rotated about every 6 hours, and drove straight through.
made a little bed in the back seat, and brought some caffiene pills.
this 24 hr ride was without a radio or air conditioning in the middle of august.
just listened to a few gigs of mp3's with headphones on.
it was well worth it though and i would do it again in a heartbeat.

my friend mike and i drove 700 miles one way to and from michigan to pickup my T2. we just alternated and stopped for food and gas... it was an ok drive but throwing the trailer into a ditch definetely made the trip longer
