ok yesterday i called the local mazda dealership to find a new inhibitor switch (neutral safety switch). the parts manager answered and i told him what i needed. then he asked me what car it was for and i said an 89 rx-7 automatic. he paused for a second then asked is that the 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder model? i said i think its a rotary??

I got the same question when I ordered a plenum gasket...It ended up taking almost 45 minutes(having to explain what kind of motor i had) to order the gasket...some people just dont know what it is...Plus, when they look parts up in the comp, it shows 0 cylinders...which could be a good reason why he asked...

maybe so. the way i see it is. if it was like a couple of years ago when there were no rotary cars being sold here then i could maybe understand it. but with the rx-8 out theres no excuse. hes just an idiot

All they have to do is look it up in the computer. There isn't going to be any options other than a rotary. What a dumbass.
