Wow, that looks.....nice. Is the air dusty pretty much all the time, or does it settle?

 

It settles down... looks like they're having a mild sand storm. I worked right down the flight line from the hangar that you're in.

for those that've been over here the first two are at balad and the last 10 were at tallil

 

I've heard that they built Tallil up for some strange reason... back in '03 it was nothing but a fuel stop for us... now i've heard they have a whole shitload of heli's there, which is fricken pointless.

 

when i was there in spring of '08 they had a bunch of navy birds there and a handful of choppers and our predator unit. we were in tents at the time but i've heard they have pods for everyone now. i just remember the bazaar there was awesome and had all the illegal **** you could want that the base commander would allow. great cuban cigars, $2 pirated every movie ever made, $50 nikes......lol good times
