ok, I have no idea how to swap a FWD auto tranny. Is it a simple unbolt-and-remove, reverse for install deal? The guy says it runs fine, would be a good a-to-b car, but it can't go in reverse. Or is this something that's such a PITA that it's not worth the trouble?

second option: about how much would a garage charge to swap a FWD auto tranny?

I think you should sleep it off.

Oh, sorry. I just read Banzai's AT to MT swap thread and thought you wanted to do the same thing with the Maxima. If you just want to put in another AT, then that really shouldn't be too bad.

Baldy 06-30-2003 10:05 AM

heck, as far as I know, someone could probably rebuild the thing for me, either way, I'm pretty sure it's a good deal. I'm going to go check it out on my lunch break.

Travisty 06-30-2003 10:09 AM

i say go for it.

they are nice reliable cars.

Baldy 06-30-2003 10:12 AM

cool, reliability is good. I'll keep that in mind.

are they all v6's?

banzaitoyota 06-30-2003 10:15 AM

Baldy 06-30-2003 10:30 AM

hhmm...just found out that it's a '93, not '97...either way, I'm gonna check it out

Baldy 07-01-2003 08:39 AM

yeah, I called the mom of the house, and told her I wanted it. she said it's all good, and I can pay her next week, when I have the money. I've been busy with home renovation-type stuff*, and haven't gotten a chance yet to go look at it.
