Try DHL. Don't know if they're cheap, but they're another option.

my roomate got his hood shipped flat rate in the country for $50.

yeah greyhound bus line.

Did they weight it and such? Or is $50 the flat rate no matter the size and weight?

I've shipped spoliers, body kits, all sorts of crap via greyhound. Just put 'FRAGILE' and 'DO NOT BEND' stickers all over, they'll top load it.

Only problem is, it's shipped cross-country on only buses that can take it. If they bus belly is full of ticketed passenger's luggage, they'll put your part on the next one.. They provide tracking info, but you have to call in to find out. I believe it was $35 to send a 15th anniv. FD spolier from San Diego to Denver.

A freight company is the best way to go. It is very cheap if you drop it off at the place, and your customer goes and picks it up at the location. When I sold my stock FD bumper It was going to cost $150 to ship from NJ to los angeles by UPS. Doing it the "freight" way cost $35
