So what kind should I eat?
Royal Gala seems the natural choice, as it's the only kind in the fridge. |
Ummm... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Royal Gala.
|
There's a store two blocks away! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

Granny Smith.
|
Boooo! Too sour! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png
Just not the grainy as hell ones...know what I'm talking about? |
|
Yeah, but how can you tell from the outside? I think they would get upset if I bit a bunch of them in the store.
|
What's wrong with "try before you buy".
|
Food that's in open air is up for grabs. Seriously though, get some "older" Granny Smiths if you don't like sour or Golden Delicious, I like the consitency of those.
|
I think that only works in the dating - marriage situation.

And cars.
|
I'll just put them back, bite mark down. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Haha, indeed. So the list is:
1. Red delicious 2. Granny smith 3. Golden delicious 4. Horse 5. Crab 6. Royal Gala 7. Fuji 8. McIntosh |
Crab apples are the little ones
You've never seen them? They're pretty good in harsh climates, short growing seasons so maybe you wouldn't. Horse apples are also referred to as road apples, but generally only country folk see those. |
Let's see how big we can get this damn list.
|
Braburn and Gala apples are the best, most flavorful. In these kinds you can tell if there grainy by how firm they are. They should be firm so if you firmly press it dosn't make and impression but you can feel a little give means that they are ripe and not grainy if they push in a bit - slightly soft then they are grainy.
My friend works in produce. |

What about cranapples? And Grape apples? (AKA Crapples and Grapples?)
|
I think those only come in bottle format.
Can you imagine being called Crapples and Grapples all day?! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |
no those are actual apples. they crossed the dna of apples and the other fruits.
|
golden delicious.
|
Then they don't belong on the list of "apples" because they're "evil liberal cross-hybrids that cause cancer."
