I was at school (in college, ****, I'm still in college), on my way to Oceanography class when I heard something was up. Didn't find out what really happened until several hours later when I went into work, the folks across the hall were glued to a TV all day.
We just kept up like a regular day, none of us knew anybody in NYC, and there wasn't anything we could do about it.

I was at work. The boss walked in and said that a plane had hit the WTC. I figured at first it was a freak accident. We were listening to the radio when the second plane hit. Then we knew. With news of the Pentagon strike we didn't know how many more were gonna hit. I met my future wife for lunch and we went to my house and watched the horror on TV. It was a bad, helpless feeling. May we never be that complacent again.

i was on a test flight at Ft Eustis VA out near the Surry power plant. We got a call on the radio saying to return to base immediately before fighter escorts were sent to enforce it. ALL of the bases and power plants in our area were freaking out at the time....

I was getting ready for class(college) when I came out and saw the second plane hit. Yelled to my friend to get his *** out of bed to check this crazy **** out and went to class. Learned some **** for that one class then sat and talked for close to 2 weeks follong the attack.
I remember calling my house to see if my father was ok, after hearing about the plane that went down in Pa. He worked at an army base here in Pa, that repairs radio equipment. Then I found out he was in Philly at a relative's funeral, and that was a big weight off my mind.

I heard my brother in the other room emoting loudly and the TV's audio could be heard so I turned mine on to see what all the fuss was about. From what I can remember, I believe I saw the second plane hit live. I turned on the radio and there was talk of a 'plane' hitting the pentagon and another that just crashed in a field.
I worked on a friend's REPU later that day. I live near an airport and it was remarkably quiet except for the occasional fighter jet heard zooming overhead.

I was at work at an airport in PA. My dad was up with a student & I saw it on the TV. I told my Dad that he and his student better come land and no sooner did he land & the FAA called and said that NO planes should be taking off. We spent the rest of the day watching TV (much like every one else) just absolutely dumb founded. I will never forget that day.
