Well it was a bit of a long day, but everything went wonderfully. We got on the water with owner, surveyor and broker by 1pm, motored to some favorable wind and headed for the travel lift, unfortunately the marina's in tampa are going away and very few have lifts, the nearest was 25 miles away as the crow flies, even better was the fact that we had to head out 5 or so miles and back another 5, we were on the water for about 2.5 hours each way, the surveyor spent A LOT of time on the boat and earned his $360, he did moisture tests over the entire deck, spot tests on the brand new engine the entire trip.

Sailing was amazing, even in the bay, there's nothing like getting the sails up and cutting the engines, we had some dolphins with us for the return trip.

Surveyor only noted small things and when I told him what we were paying he was very impressed. I will have the whole survey tomorrow, but I don't think there is much to worry about, the broker is gonna have a pump-out deck fitting installed and the jib re-sewn before we bring it back the 240 mile trip home through the middle of florida June 23rd. The boat was much faster than i had expected and we had a great time, Island Girl is definetely "the" boat.

I grew up in Saskatchewan, our lakes don't get waves more than a foot high on them. Lake Huron is a little different.

that's a guy who made $210 for less then 20 minutes work and a maybe an hour total on his lift.

Basically I had to have the boat pulled to check the hull for blisters, cracks,, sea monsters and village people.
