I've seen something weird before, a light that looked like one on an aircraft, but it was moving so fast that I should have been able to hear it. It was a clear night sky, the only cloud was on the other side of the sky. I blinked or glanced away, and it was gone. All I said was "whoa", and a guy near me looks and says "YOU SAW THAT TOO??"

I just said, "Saw what? I just found $20 in my pocket. You're crazy." Not really, but that would have been funny.

There's a lot of **** in the atmosphere. Lots of layers of varying density. I'm never sure how stuff would really look as light passes through all that.

It would look similar to a rainbow or the stripes of colours you get on the side of a soap bubble. To get a solid coloured ball would take deliberate effort though, not something that would arise from interference between layers of the atmosphere.

i was wondering if say a meteor broke through the atmosphere it could possibly change course in the process. like i say at first i thought "oh cool shooting star" then it went in a different direction.

I believe in the Aurora thing, cause I believe that now they can do it...it's just an extention of the SR-71 Blackbird project but without the mistakes made that kept it out in the open...the space shuttle can withstand the physics behind going 6X the speed of sound and the design for that thing is over 30 years old. If it doesn't exist, it should.

Not in my opinion, and I am, after all, a world-renowned astro-physicist. The only thing that could make a meteor change direction that rapidly is a collision with another object.

Clearly, it was a UFO, and its okay if you're pregnant with an alien love-child. We're here for you.

You're probably the only guy who writes his replies in such a manner that I can actually feel the sarcasm all the way from Canada.

One of the few who actually makes me LOL rather than just keep a straight face and type "lol" as a courtesy.
