Well I went down to the local strip last night and there were just a few Rotary powered vehicles.

There was a REPU that ran a mid 15 and a 1st gen RX7 that ran a high 16. There was a 3rd gen RX7 but I never saw him run. Also a NICE RX3 in the parking lot but I didn't see it run. I told my girlfriend was tempted to put a note on his windshield to see if they wanted to sell it.

Anyway I was surprised at how these people race.... Every Honda, Acura, and any other rice racer that was up at the line seemed to think it was a burnout contest. I mean then the tree went green they all would smoke there tires and wait for them to hook up 30 feet down the track.

The fastest run I saw was a Camaro do a 12 sec pass. Even Mustangs were running 15 sec 1/4's... Anything running a 14 sec 1/4 would have been fast.

I wished I brough my Zuki out there. So I'm planing on being back there in 2 weeks (next week they are not running). So I have to get my NOS bottle filled and hopefully I will be there.

PIR (Portland International Raceway) Saturday nights 6 PM- 1 AM

$6.00 to watch, $20 to race.

I usally go to Woodburn, I was also surprised at the way they run the cars. No Dialin times, They don't stage start the races. If the announcer doesn't say what they ran, you have no way to know. In that repect I think Woodburn is way better.

But it was fun to see the Rotaries run, and disappointing to see how slow the 5.0 and 4.6 mustangs are.

Speaking of which, I have this brand new Infiniti, the one thats pretty much the Maxima, as a rental. It has that 260 HP engine, the other night for ***** and giggles I turn the traction control off, set the parking brake, and proceeded to smoke that front tire to high hell. It seemed like the thing to do at the time, lol.
