Safety Rating For Fd

I was just wondering what are the safety ratings on the FD's i cant find any info on cras testing or anything. But i thought that all cars had to be tested before they can be sold in the us. Please let me know if you guys have this info around.

From accident pics I've seen I'd say on a scale of 1-10, 10 the safest, I give the FD a 0

small, light engine = low inertia / protection from a frontal crash.



that and i live in texas, and my car is shaped like a wedge. 25% of vehicles sold here are trucks, and half of them are lifted like 5" off the ground, with 35" tires. they will drive over me, and smush me in my FC.

Actually they are safer then most people think. I saw a report on them a while back. It had a moderate safety rating. I survived my accident and I rolled over nearly three times. Head on however is a different story...I really dont think you stand a chance

nah fd is perfectly safe. in like 96 my friend bought one that hit a pole hard enough to put the motor into the firewall (broken water pump, and ppf!) and the guy walked away. we built a pro7 car and the guy crashed it hard enough to break the HEATER! and walked away without having a seat belt. mazdas are pretty safe
