Or let off the throttle.. Dummy..

MPG on a turbo diesel is moreover based on the amount of load, or how much boost you need.

Trucks have shitty mpg because they are constantly pulling a shitload of weight around and always need boost.

You wouldn't need a controller

Yeah you would, if you are on the highway, the turbo is spooled to a certain degree, if you go to pass, the turbo will kick in.

it hit 160 really slowly though.....

my FD i hit 175 indictated which was close to 180 with MUCH bigger tires i was running

still a fast car just not one i want
Exactly what I was thinking. My FC will hit 160 in a blink of an eye. Ask Mazdadrifter he saw it in person from a chase car. I just downshift to 4th and punch it and wham 160 is there! The scary part is considering to go faster than that. 150+ is scary. I wouldn't do it again unless I had a roll cage. I definatly wouldn't do it in a earodynamically challanged Neon.

It seemed like those guys could have munched on a hot dog or taco while they waited for 160 to come on by.
