Hah, the first focker that wrecks one will have us vultures looming over his car's carcass. I'd love to make that sort of transplant, but yeah, it would probably cost an ass of money.

are the new rx-8's goin to come turbo or n/a only.if they put like a 20g that would kick ass

evilT2 09-14-2002 12:20 AM

you would probably be better off spending the money on a 20b.

though you could put any engione in it you wanted, save a straight eight or something. as long as you have the budget the sky is the limit

we need to see the mounts first. theoretically, its a good swap. 250hp and it weighs less (supposed to) than an na fc motor. less wieght = you go faster

ill go steal some mounts from a rx-8, ill use the ninja quickness, maybe not?

I've talked with Mazda Canada about buying crated engines. They're being very evasive about prices and terms...

sidewinderx7 09-16-2002 12:25 AM

i thought about that when i first read about the rx-8. But then i figured if im gonna spend that much money on an engine transplant, i might as well go with a 20b and probably save money, and have alot more power. Im still thinking about that 20bt from corksports... depends on how much i make during king crab season this year https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

it would, but i like the fact of having 250 hp on a stock engine, who says the rx-8 wont become popular and aftermarket companies may go crazy on it, as well as any rotary enthuisiast would. and if theres a turbo version(nice) do they still even make cosmo engines? if they dont there starting to show there age, harder to find etc., where as the rx-8 motor is brand new. do not take any of these words to as exactly what i mean cause im not sure about the cosmo motor still being produced or not? im still earning the life of rotaries, piece
