well, its n/a so the power potential out of the box isn't as high as the fd, that could be a bit of a let down. also the fact that it doesn't have competitive numbers with many of the newer sports cars recently released. i really don't think it was supposed to be a contender as far as performance goes, i say wait till/if they release a new rx-7 hopefully that will be more competitive.

It is a family car

It's a sports sedan, 4-doors, no b-pillar. And, personally, for what it is and isn't I think the car rocks!

It'll never be a replacement for my FD or FC (or for the FB I used to have), but if I wanted something sporty that I could toss my kids in the back and take off it's perfect.

Right now if I want to take one of my boys somewhere I'm screwed. My 94 FD has two front air-bags, so I have to take my stupid conversion van.

I'd take one for a daily driver.. In person they are pretty cool. There is just way too many similarities in all the new sportscars. They all have similar lines. I remember when the FD came out everyone was like HOLY ****!!!

Only cars that make me do that now are one's I can't or will ever be able to afford........

if the RX-8 was actually the FD everyone would be like HOLY ****.

especially if the paint didnt come off in sheets and the dealers knew how to work on twin turbo systems.

There are a bunch of people on the RX8 forum that say they dynoed their car and it only came up 175rwhp.. which would mean a 75 hp loss in the drivetrain. Needless to say they were pissed and demanded an explanation from the dealership.

The best the dealerships could probably come up with was.. "Well, we think you threw a piston in cylinder 3."

I added that last part.. I dunno what the stealerships said.
