First thing that comes to mind: Dodge Stealth. It does look good but not exactly distinctive, although the SA/FB were Porsche 924 knock-offs, the FC followed the 944, and the FD the Corvette.

i was probably too young to notice or care, but i think it was the other way around.

FD was released in 91 - C5 vette was released in 97

The C5 very FD-ish. They had to move the tranny to the back of the car to try to give it a 50/50 weight ratio. That's funny to me because the FD was already there with a rotary and the heavy turbos etc.

Moving the tranny back made it so that real-sized people could drive a 'Vette. I couldn't even fit my feet in the footwell of a C4 without touching all of the pedals all of the time. It made me think I was too big for a sports car.
