Also one thing I would like to point out, the rules have always been there, nothing has changed in the gen D rules, they've been there since day one. However, there was really no need to enforce them in the past as the forum is comprised primarily of adults and they understood how to act and communicate with people.

As I mentioned before about adolesence pushing the envelope, it eventually went too far and people began to complain. I/We have always upheld that personal attacks were not allowed. The first ban we ever did here was due to a personal attack, it's never been allowed or tolerated, but it's became an epidemic lately. This is the reason for the changes.

There's a huge difference between freindly banter and an all out personal attack. There is no reason that not allowing members to attack other members should detract from the site, it will improve it.

Take some time to put yourself in my shoes.
Nobody ever mentioned knowledgable people are threatening to leave unless you ban them or something..

That's really unfortunate they took that approach to you. But what can you do now that it's in your hands. Perhaps whoever threatened to me just shouldnt post in Gen D. Other than that I think the ignore feature would be usefor for those who threatened to leave and those members only.

Of course Gen D doesn't contribute to the rest of the forum, it's just Gen D. A place to go for a few laughs. I think everyone needs to take a step back and just think that it's just internet. If you don't like what someone says then just ignore it.

I feel really bad now for phins for being put in a difficult situation like that, especially when Mike is a supporting member of the forum.

If you want to get into that kind of discussion with one of your "buddies" get an AIM handle and chat it there. There's no reason to drag it through the forum and especially into other people's topics. If you want to do it with multiple friends, open an AIM chatroom. Ryan and I give eachother **** all day on AIM, we tell each other to eat **** and **** off. But we DO NOT make it a part of usual posting because it isn't appropriate to do in a public venue.

Supporting member or not I can't put the best interests of the forum in front of money, it's simply not in my nature for one and second, ultimately the two go hand in hand. If I allow a supporter to trash the atmosphere, I won't have anyone wanting to sign up and support.

Supporting the forum doesn't give you a license to digress.

The problem is, why should the majority be afraid to post in gen d because a very small minority? that seems pretty messed up to me and it's not an attitude I want to adopt.

Could I ban them? Yes, but that is not what I want to do, I used to talk to Kevin on AIM quite a bit and I considered him to be a decent guy. He owns an RX-7 and that means he should be welcome here. I don't want them to leave, i want them to take little pride in this joint and see what kind of an atmosphere they are creating for it.

It's also very hard to ignore someone when EVERYTIME you post a topic they've got throw out a response that looks like a 6 year old got a hold of a keyboard. i shouldn't have to ignore anyone, everyone here should be civil and learn to get a long or find some place where they are able to get along.

Don't get me wrong Phins I'm sympathizing with you for being in a difficult situation, I'm not telling you that you handled it wrong.

But I'm sure more than one person will agree with me that Gen D is basically like just a big chatroom. It's just general discussion. We all (or so I thought) get along, so we can joke with eachother, no?

Well whatever you decide just lay it out in the guidelines or PM me if I break a rule or something. I'll follow suit. Just saying Mike and Kevin are cool guys if you can take their jokes. I'm mature enough to handle them I don't see why anyone else doesn't have to be. I guess I'm just shocked that names are named in the Gen D rules.

LOL, well that was for "shock" value. I am running out of options, I need something to drive the point home.

I'm well aware of the gen d atmosphere, both past and present. But in recent days, I myself have felt uneazy about posting anything in here and that isn't right at all.

Sweet. I am glad to see that the juvenile laziness of attitude and lack of respect shown by a few members here is being seen by the administration. This section does not need to be a free-for-all of **** talking and baby talk.

ok seriously whoever doesnt like my jokes or ballbusting PM me, let me know, ill avoid you.

but phins for you to say us making posts that pertain to a group of people basically as a way to squander our time while waiting for something else to do is odd, i mean elts run down things other people post. "i have no coffee", "i like *****" "damn i took a mean crap".

at least we have some sort of form to our topics, true there's no function, but half the formula is there.

I honestly dont care anymore, you want to censor me fine, ill stand on the sideliens and simply read gend, but when people stop coming and stop having fun and laughs here dont ask me why that is.

and if you dont mind ill help point out things that are worse then what i do with a short but sweet reply in their topic.

hell nowadays im forced to post disclaimers in my replies and topics, and am constantly trashed for being a "young kid", is that fair? no, so its a lose:lose situation.

but like i said, ill stop posting here, ill just read-along, but ill be sure to point out wrong-doings and the lack of any fun, and dont be surprised when it starts feeling a little russian in here.

kevin.

edit: oh and dramon hit the fricking nail-on-the-head, me and mike are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT in any other forum or even on AIM, you ask us a question or throw an idea at us we'll assist you and give you our experiences and ideas, all in a nice calm (sometimes random, true) friendly attitude and atmosphere. It's here in gend that we seem to get the most laughs for being ballbusters because the people offended dont feel like pointing it out to us.

seriously, whoever you are that dislikes my comments, LET ME KNOW, ILL AVOID YOU AND YOUR TOPICS, but dont expect my help if you want me to avoid you.
