I went to bed then I woke up and this happened.
Can't any of this be solved off the forums? I mean if it's such a big deal why not ban people for 12 hrs or something when 'it' happens.. Like I was.. Even though Revvin7 already told me it wasn't cool and I didn't do it again.. |

You're right, it sucks. It sucks that I even have to post updated rules like that, it sucks that we have a handful of members making gen d a shithole. I'll put them back to being a link here soon. I just wanted everyone to read them .

Revvin7 already told me it wasn't cool so I didn't do it again.. So I didn't.. And then I lost my privelages.. But it's not that big a deal, I don't really care.. Fre and teknics always argue with people, and it's funny, because it's just jokes. This is just Gen D. What's the big deal. I get along with Mike and Kevin because I know they are just razzing people half the time. I'm not big on arguing in here either. I come here because it's alot different from the RX7club lounge. People here know you are just joking half the time and everybody has a much more laid back attitude - it's a refreshing change and you can tell it's a much more friendlier community over here, even through all the razzing. I don't even know what's causing tension to be so high but **** sakes let's get it resolved ASAP so we don't have to deal with it anymore. |
The only persons actions you can control are your own, so do that and you have no worries.
Ryan may have been a bit quick to take your privs for a few hours, but you see what goes on around and I am sure you can see that we are taking a pro-active effort to ensure that is does not get any further out of control. I am sure had you of contacted him and said you get it, he would have removed it. With that said, the issue is in the past, let's look to the future, focus on how we can improve the outlook and improve Nopistons.com. |

As far as I'm concerned Gen D is as fun as it is thanks to Mike and Kevin. I know they are just joking or razzing people (even me) so it's funny. People like Dramon, Yuki, and defprun we all joke around with eachother and make retarded posts just like anyone else. I razz the hell out of Dramon even though I think he's a cool guy. I'm just trying to figure out why all of a sudden Mike and Kevin are blacklisted (other than the ABS arguement which is in the past now I thought). It must be off the forums because I'm not seeing too much of it. And if it's from the way they act, then there must be alot of us that should be in just as much **** as they are for making useless posts. You know what I'm saying? I love this place I don't post here because I'm bored, I do it because it's fun. But with all this tension it's not so fun anymore. It's like all of a sudden everything is all serious, but I come here to relax and bask in the laid-backness of Gen D. I used to be overly touchy to remarks people made about me and now i just sit back and laugh. Life is what YOU make it for yourself. Not what you allow others to do for you. And i just wanna make it clear phins that i support you completely i just think everyone including mike and kevin need to lighten up. Everyone is getting all spazzity n such. |
The issue is with the offenders is that no matter what action is taken, they take it into the forum, that's why it's been taken to the "public' as you put it. Furthermore, it's an epidemic, it's only getting worse as more and more start to think it's fun to harass and start arguments with every other member on the forum. It's one thing if you know the person, it's another if you just sign up here and get harrassed, called names and flamed just for being here. It's unacceptible behavior. Every effort off the forum has been made with no success.
Their's a limit to everything and like all of us when we were children we pushed those limits until we found a boundry, some apparently don't grow out of that. This is the bottom line. I am getting PM's from knowledgable, valuable, long standing members that say they are no longer going to post at Nopistons because of this behavior. When I start seeing that happen, my choice is to A) Ignore them, loose good knowledgable members and let a hand full of morons continue to drive away the rest of our members. or B) Do something about the morons and retain both our long standing knowledgable members and new members to come. This bullshit in Gen D DOES NOT add to the quality of the forum, nor the valuable information found in other areas. When it comes down to forum quality vs. letting the idiots out of their cage to destroy the forum, my decision is obvious. Take some time to put yourself in my shoes. Should I spend what little extra money I have each month to run a forum where I come and get harrassed every day? Should I waste my time and efforts and watch a quality community that we built be slowly eroded by a handful of hooligans? That's what you are proposing.... think about it for a minute. Also one thing I would like to point out, the rules have always been there, nothing has changed in the gen D rules, they've been there since day one. However, there was really no need to enforce them in the past as the forum is comprised primarily of adults and they understood how to act and communicate with people.
As I mentioned before about adolesence pushing the envelope, it eventually went too far and people began to complain. I/We have always upheld that personal attacks were not allowed. The first ban we ever did here was due to a personal attack, it's never been allowed or tolerated, but it's became an epidemic lately. This is the reason for the changes. There's a huge difference between freindly banter and an all out personal attack. There is no reason that not allowing members to attack other members should detract from the site, it will improve it. |

If you want to get into that kind of discussion with one of your "buddies" get an AIM handle and chat it there. There's no reason to drag it through the forum and especially into other people's topics. If you want to do it with multiple friends, open an AIM chatroom. Ryan and I give eachother **** all day on AIM, we tell each other to eat **** and **** off. But we DO NOT make it a part of usual posting because it isn't appropriate to do in a public venue.

The problem is, why should the majority be afraid to post in gen d because a very small minority? that seems pretty messed up to me and it's not an attitude I want to adopt. Could I ban them? Yes, but that is not what I want to do, I used to talk to Kevin on AIM quite a bit and I considered him to be a decent guy. He owns an RX-7 and that means he should be welcome here. I don't want them to leave, i want them to take little pride in this joint and see what kind of an atmosphere they are creating for it. It's also very hard to ignore someone when EVERYTIME you post a topic they've got throw out a response that looks like a 6 year old got a hold of a keyboard. i shouldn't have to ignore anyone, everyone here should be civil and learn to get a long or find some place where they are able to get along. |

That is until my character is being shredded by people who dont have the ability within themselves to confront me directly, thats when things bother me, im a very understanding and work things out rather easily btu everyone acts liek im a cut-throat. kevin. |
