Never said they were the same age, but at the same time, U2's been around forever and they still have it.
Boxrs (Ant Triangle): Bono's always been an activist, what's so new about that? I think their new album is pretty good considering how long it's been. Sunday Bloody Sunday is an old equivalent to Love & Peace (Or Else), he still sings about the same things, edge still plays similiar clean channel riff's, etc.
But part of that is opinionated, and un-arguable...I just think they're still pretty good considering the stamina of most other bands.
Yah, whatever. The state of their current musicianship aside, I'll always prefer the fun-loving lyrics of the Stones to the blatant political blowhard-ism of Bone-Oh and U frickin' 2. If I want political ******* commentary, I'll read the goddam op-ed page.

bottom line is they need to stop playing, I dont give a **** if they care what I think or not, they are making themselves look bad. There IS a time to retire, and that time is now.
they might keep playing just to **** you off, thats why they are not the beatles

I don't understand why they didn't get Detroit acts to play the half time show in Detroit. They have an entire genre named after them for Christ sake.
Even if they didn't want Motown, there's still a ton of people to choose from, anyone of which makes more sense than old men from England at America's biggest sporting event.
Detroit people that would be a better choice:
any Motown act,
Bob Seger,
Kid Rock,
M & M,
Madonna,
Ted Nugent. (lol, maybe on guitar for Kid Rock)
Who's picking the halftime show? The Stones (2006), Paul McCartney (2005), Justin Timberlake & Janet Jackson (2004)? Do ANY football fans listen to Timberlake & Jackson? Do any of their fans watch football?
