I have to jump in here... PFS is an excellent shop, and Peter himself, contrary to popular belief is an awesome guy. Although he may not remember me if I were to go by there, I will stand up for him and what he has contributed to the RX7 community.
Peter and I were BOTH interested in buying the same 1993 FD RX7. The one I currently own. I had given the guy a measley 500 bucks to hold the car for me while I worked on the loan.
Peter COULD have swindled the guy into selling him the car... After all, he is Peter Ferrell. He didn't.
After I finalized the purchased the car... Guess where I took it. Yup.
Peter knew there was nothing in it for him, since I wanted the car checked out for the long drive to STL. He still, took away from his daily **** (Busy guy he is) and looked personally at my car. Drove it for a good 25 minutes. Sat in it at idle to see if the fans came on..... Blazed through the parkinglot a few times checking the boost pattern... Inspected under the hood... About an hour later he returned the keys to my hand.
Peter asked me what my plans were. He made recommendations. He told me I found a nice car, and he was happy to see it come to his shop for inspection. We talked a bit about how he had wanted the same car...
Peter charged me JACK ****.
I know NO other shop that would even TALK to me for free.
I back up Peter from PERSONAL experience. Others may have had different experiences, but I would take my car there ANY DAY. I mean... HE was on the design team...

were did I ripp on PFS ???? 
my only beef is he only takes cash.... as in no credit cards .
Not all of us have 7k in cash
Thats why I was confused when Rikki sent me that mail.
And he never replied , so it seems like he just likes to make noise

I do agree it's a rare practice tho, some guy tried charging me a couple years back when i asked him to simply LOOK at the integrity of the bottom of my jeep...when he said let me write an estimate on the cost i said, while you do that let me drive home, bye.

I've always said that I'd let PFS work on my car. Ray is a hella nice guy. I have talked to Peter on the phone many times for support for my PMC, and well Ryan is just a goddamn dork Every shop has its "stories".
No just kidding. Ryan has helped me out alot, and is a cool guy. He just gets a little carried away sometimes with this internet ****. Funny thing is,I'd bet money that 1/2 of the people that give Ryan so much ****, have used his website or his posts toguide them through switching to non sequential.

Wow, this was a bit of a surprise , I thought you had a sense of humor. I don’t see were you can say I took any jabs at PFS, and if anything the few times I have contribute to the forum it was positive concerning my experiences at PFS. If you read into what I post and think I was speaking of yourself that’s fine but it was a general statement about the immaturity and lack of professionalism I see concerning shops here. PFS has had enough bad press and I wouldn’t add fuel to that fire.
More than once I have recommend Peter and still consider myself a customer of his. As for my "damm motor " you got me, well isn’t that stretching a bit? Ray at Malloy has been in contact with me since the week I picked up my car from High Tech last year. I do appreciate the advice you gave me but it was juts that advice. Besides that if you got me the motor from Malloy why would they refuse to deliver it to PFS? If your wondering about the kind of stuff I say about PFS contact this guy, he pm’ed me the other day AMUR_ .I can track down a few other guys I have sent to PFS if you need.
If your dsisatisfied I took my car to RP performance to have the swap done I can expalin that in detail if you curious. In hindsight it was the correct call since the car required a substantial amount of work and with the limited forms of payment at PFS I would not have been able to "do the job right " As I said above if your interested I can explain in detail more about what’s going on with my car.
I think I gave you a decent response and apologize I didn’t write sooner..I guess if I called you a "hick " or ‘redneck " I would feel bad or fall under the "rest of these forum **** and just bash people for no damn reason " but what I wrote about you and Bret’s dog was just a bit of fun, just that.
I know more than once I tired to contact you before I made my choice on what shop to do my motor. Unfortunalty you never responed to my e-mails or PMs’. In fact I did leave you a voice mail at PFS back in Dec of last year .It wouldn’t have changed my decision on were to go but it may have let you understand my long term plans. I have an enormous amount of suspension work that needs done and I was planning on having you guys install my components .Let me know if you still feel like there is a misunderstanding. My schedule is always clear for a Kart race or two if you want to beat me up on the track in Sterling
