mike
yes this is true, you average top 25 band makes about 2-5 cents on each CD sold, you have to remember that CD are made in factories that have workers that are unionized and get paid about 25-100 dollars an hour, depending on their position.

Contrary to popular belief, almost all CD's are made in the USA [/quote]

so where does the other 21.90 go?

well all i know is they have way too much money for the amount of skill it takes (in most cases) to make the music that they make, therefore i choose not to partake in the wastage of money on cd's when i can get it for free

a cd bought in mass amoutns costs a couple cents.

so with the $21.90 left (as mike said) figure about another 10 cents off for the actual product (reality is in mass quantities a cd is much less then 10 cents)

you have $21.80 left over. figure out the rest im about to have a kegger woo.

If the RIAA wouldn't have attacked MP3 technology and file-sharing, none of this crap would ever have happened.

So I'll continue to support only the bands I feel deserve my support.

Releasing music on the Internet and bypassing CDs will ultimately be the future...or if DVD-A or SACD ever catch on...Damn DVD-A is soooo nice...
