UniqueTII 10-01-2003 11:20 AM

ZenRXSeven 10-01-2003 11:53 AM

rfreeman27 10-01-2003 12:01 PM

yes.

YES!!!!

vosko 10-01-2003 12:33 PM

i told it would probably have about 100 cars

Srce 10-01-2003 12:54 PM

I just went to LA, so yeah, I'd come.

FrestyleFC3S 10-01-2003 01:07 PM

i be there

Drift_It 10-01-2003 02:09 PM

I'd come and i would bring friends, It would just depend on the date. and how work and money is at the time.

drew 10-01-2003 02:31 PM

BoostedRex 10-01-2003 03:48 PM

I'll be there. Even if I have to fly back home from the Island and drive my 7 up from SC. That and I'd be willing to bet that most all of the SC crew would be up for it as well.

JaySpec7 10-01-2003 04:00 PM

I'd love to go to a Seven Stock NE 1 !!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

vancouverrx7 10-01-2003 04:14 PM

count me in! I love big events!

rfreeman27 10-01-2003 05:41 PM

Id go...as i said, and bring 5 people with me!

IMO the northeast is a pretty big hotspot for rotaries, many active members of the board live in this reigon. Vosko is right! Look at how many people showed up for rotorfest! Imagine if there are auto-x and drag racing...and drifting!

Rob x-7 10-01-2003 05:51 PM

how does this differ from Rotorfest

vosko 10-01-2003 06:23 PM

it has racing and car show....... but i'm gonna talk to mich. he already has experience doing this. its a giant pain in the ass https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

93 R1 10-01-2003 06:24 PM

I'm thinking it should be a little further south then Rotorfest, then maybe more of the guys from the south would show up. If you advertise far enough in advance I think we could do well over 100 cars. **** there was over 100 at Rotorfest...right?

Possibly the place where MADS is?

vosko 10-01-2003 06:25 PM

well etown is central NJ remember you were there https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

93 R1 10-01-2003 06:34 PM

yaeh but I'm thinking about the guys down around Florida, Georgia, etc...

Fd3BOOST 10-01-2003 08:10 PM

There are way more guys in the Tristate than there are south of Virginia.

I would like it to be closer to Maryland but I will drive anywhere as long as its within 6 hours.

FrestyleFC3S 10-01-2003 08:33 PM

i would be bringing 4 fds with me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

FrestyleFC3S 10-01-2003 08:44 PM

well....2 legs....2 arms....and teeth...so 5 cars is doable

FikseRxSeven 10-01-2003 08:58 PM

im down, let me know the date!!

teknics 10-01-2003 10:54 PM

obviously... and id bring everyone i could...and maybe ito would show up with his sick inventions...

BoostedRex 10-02-2003 01:19 AM

I don't know about the lack of 7's in the south as was previously mentioned. I know for a fact that there are 30 active members in SC alone with another 30+ in GA and we're always up for events. I'm still active in the SC group and I live in Portugal for the next year!! I am flying back to make a couple of events through this next year though. Keep us informed of the dates and I think that you'd be surprised just how many "Southern 7's" will show. Laterz.

Zach

FCmaniac 10-02-2003 07:48 AM

I'd go. I'd bet there would be a lot more than 100 if it were advertised enough. E town is popular for big events.

Srce 10-02-2003 08:33 AM

I just came back from LA, so yeah, I'd go.

MichRX7 10-02-2003 09:39 AM

Srce,

You don't even come to the events near you, lol...

vosko 10-02-2003 09:40 AM

i just mean 100 cars. i'm not even talking about spectators. we'll see what mich says about no east coast love

93 R1 10-02-2003 10:30 AM

Theres alot of guys in the South/southeast

MichRX7 10-02-2003 02:51 PM

Hey, I don't mind being under the gun and being asked why or why not we did or did not do certain things https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

In our original planning stages we blocked off the Rotary Revolution as being our largest scale rotary only event. It will always happen the last weekend in April in Indianapolis, IN.

After getting that settled we took out a map of the US and broke it up into quarters and tried to figure out the best places to have large-scale events that focused on rotary enthusiasts. Four finalists were chosen (what am I a reality TV show?)

1. Englishtown, NJ

2. Atlanta, GA

3. Las Vegas, NV

4. San Francisco, CA

Than we discussed costs per event, staff, etc, etc, etc and decided that maybe five large-scale events in year two might be too much (since we both have full-time jobs, and just one event last year was like a 2nd full-time job that didn't pay us, lol).

So, we pulled our map back out and went back and forth on discussions to narrow down two of the venues. We discussed off-setting events, we discussed known populations of rotary vehicles, we discussed marketing and costs, etc... And we finally agreed (reluctantly) to narrow the list down to Atlanta and Las Vegas in 2004, and branch out again in 2005.

Trust me, I was all for Englishtown. And if two hundred people with rotary vehicles from the NorthEast want to email me personally ( MichRX7@rx7revolution.com ) proving that we can easily get them to attend; I'd drag Keynote22 back through the fire and try and have an event in up that way in 2004. And you can use this message to raise interest in any of the NorthEast forums. It won't be a clone of the Rotary Revolution in Indiana, but it will be a large-scale driving event geared to proving to the world the capabilities of the rotary engine and Mazda's RX-based vehicles.

Than I can sell the idea to vendors including Mazda to help keep the costs down. Insurance is a killer, than there's the track itself, the tracks employees, employees to help run the event, security, etc...etc...etc...

Show us the interest, and we'll show you the love (sooner rather than later). https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

vosko 10-02-2003 02:56 PM

you know i had over 100 cars at rotorfest right ? that was just word of mouth....

Lacan91 10-02-2003 06:24 PM

seeing as my car is nearing completion, i would attend. and perhaps some of the other rotaries in my area.

Loi

turbovr6 10-02-2003 06:28 PM

We had 140 cars at rotorfest and about 200 people. Not bad for a small BBQ !! LOL

I've been debating on how to plan out rotorfest for next year, the whole doing it at english town is really the only answer.(or some other "track" location.

It's honestly tooooo much work for Vosko and I as the event gets bigger and bigger. The way I see it we have 2 options.

1. move rotorfest to an organized place like englishtown

2. keep it in the same place(or same type of place) and sell a certain # of tickets and thats it. you don't buy a ticket you can't come.

The second option sucks but it's the only way to do it.

Having it at an englishtown type place is Ideal. They deal with the food, they deal with ticket sales. That leave Vosko and I the time needed to plan the events of the day(or days) !!

MazdaMike 10-02-2003 06:29 PM

im in like sin... is that a phrase?

Yep, I know...and it looked like you had a great time. I almost rolled out there, but for personal reasons could not.

Again, I'd love to do an event up in your area. Obviously the surrounding population figures are quite good. Boston, Baltimore, DC, etc all surround you.

I haven't received any emails yet so it's tough to show proof to my partner that we need to do one this coming year. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

But, in all seriousness. I am all for doing an event there. Englishtown was my original choice, but we weren't sure we could handle jumping straight out into 5 large scale events, and I'm not sure the sponsors in the rotary community are ready to help fund that many events. We are working on it. I came home from work last night, kissed my wife, hugged my 4 and 5 year olds than walked straight up to the computer room and worked until almost 2 am. We are going to succeed, we are going to put on the greatest rotary driving events possible, and some day (hopefully soon) we will be doing them at Englishtown! Than everyone can help me lose my Michigan accent and talk like a New Yorker...lol
