Unhappy

Anyone here good with writing these things? I'm in the middle of rewriting mine now. My current version sits at about 5 full pages, it seems to scare many possible employers off. I really dislike writing these things...

5 pages IS too much, i think. Try to keep irrelevant info off of it...things you could mention in an interview.

Keep it simple, and to the point. Under 3 is good. Like writing an essay, they only want the meat....no filler.

As a business owner I can say I am more impressed w/ a one page to the point resume.

I just want to see if you are qualified for the job. Throw in some commendable things that will make you stand out from the crowd and keep it short and sweet most people are too busy to read 5 pages.

There is also a difference between a resume and a curriculum vitae. A resume is just stuff pertinent to you getting the job you want, not everything you have ever done in your life.
