Rear End Collision!
#1
So I'm sitting behind some stopped traffic on a bridge minding my own business. I reach over to mess with the radio and look at the pristine 2 door red Alfa Romeo classic roadster stopped in front of me. Then I felt / heard the loudest bang I have ever experienced . . . everywhere all around me like an explosion. Quite shocked I regain my vision of the inside of the car only to see that I am laying down and the remains of the back seat is to my immediate right. I sit up and turn off the ignition and try to open the door. No luck, it was jambed completely stuck. So I try the passenger side, same story. So I roll down the power window and crawl out to see the faces of a few guys looking at me as if I were a ghost.
I find the pavement under my feet and look at my car and the ones in front and behind it. The rear trunk and basically everything behind the rear wheels was now in the shape of tin foil. The Taurus that hit me must have been going 40+ in what is supposed to be a 25 zone; he must have not paid attention to the traffic stopped ahead. The impact of his car hitting mine launched my car into the Alfa, which was 10 feet in front of me, now with its rear end smashed. This thing was pristine and the guy said that he just finished restoring it.
I went to the hospital to get some x rays of my neck and now here I am, four hours later recounting the experience. What a rush! And my fu#$ing Integra is now a heap of crushed metal.
I am thankful that I didn't get any kind of real injuries, and glad that I decided to use the Integra for daily driving duties instead of the FC.
To anyone using your FC as a daily driver, don't let some moron **** up your night from behind! Get a nice beater.

glad you're ok, that really sucks.
yet another reason to have a beater for a DD, the more you drive a car in traffic, especially rush traffic, more likely you are to get smashed into.
and people ask me why I like working the night shift....

I'd be happy if I got a couple thousand to get another beater with. I've always wanted a late 80's 16v Scirocco for some reason.
