i just got new trunions and kingpin bushings for the triumph. i can reuse the original bushings and go from 1" of play to about 1/8", or prolly get down to 1/16" with the new kingpin bushings. the new bushings need to be reamed and pressed in

the lower control arms pivot on the 2 steel shafts and the spindle SCREWS into the center, so they have a steel spindle pivoting on brass.

And why would you want to increase play? Is there a problem with the fit?

the new bushings dont fit on the kingpins, they need to be hogged out, or i can live with the old bushings which are not too bad, and a bunch less work

Instead of a lathe or a milling machine, you should use a pair of scissors and mount the piece on the axle of a Ford Fairlane with some ducttape and get your cousin Big Earl to "stomp on it".
