Anyone got a contact for buying rackmounted servers cheap?

Kind of tossing around the idea of building a 1u server.

The networking guy I work with can set up a decent (not bad, but not the best) server with amazing security... I'm not sure on price but I'd estimate a grand. Depends though... I can talk to him if you'd like.

Yea I'm sure he does. I'll give him a ring and ask him about it.

Build your own. Or search for used 1u Dell servers on eBay. They are Linux and Windoz certified.

Are you gonna go with duel processors? Raid. I can hook you up with a 2.4 gig amd with 80 gig 7200 rpm with 512 ram, no os for a hair under $500. Pre built ofcourse
