They are not that hard to control! Unless your batteries die.. and it goes wildly out of control and crashes under a car next to a wall.. at WOT.. and melts the differentials.. and racks up $150 in Repairs.. Ask me how I know..

You could get an electric one, they are still quick and great for learning. Plus they come in the same size as the bodies come for the gas powered ones, so you can at least switch bodies over so you dont have to buy a new one.

electrics are fun! I've never had a nitro car or truck?
