Hi everybody,

Just wanted to say hi as i am soon to become the owner of a RX-7 3rd generation. Below are some pics of my car which is currently on route from Japan. Anything i should watch out for reliability wise? What mods should i perform first? I have come from a Toyota Supra TT MKIV, but have opted for a lighter and possibly better looking car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Cheers all

Adam

She is a 1997, Savanna Model with 30,000 ish miles on the clock. Leather is really quite rare on RX-7's in Europe, it seems u Americans all have leather https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

That's badass man! How much. if you don't mind saying? I want a right hand drive

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 06:05 PM

HI

Well i run a car importing business and i import direct from Japan, that car would be around £15,000 in the UK, with full mileage verification and non stolen import approval certificate ( we have had problems with clocking and stolen jap imports in the past in the UK ). If you want anymore details or any advice just gimme a shout. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Forgot to mention i have access to around 100 of these each week and some are highly modded if you wanted one that was already modded. They range from 1992 - 2001.

Cheers

mike

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 06:13 PM

Hey

Importing to the USA wouldn't be a problem at all, i would have to contact my shipping agent but i dont see it being a problem, it would probably be cheaper than importing to England...... is there a large market for RHD RX-7's in America?

Cheers

Adam.

vosko 01-18-2003 06:19 PM

their would be if someone could actually get them over here. i'd buy a 99 RHD in a heartbeat! if i was guaranteed i could get it over here and i could actually drive it on the street

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 06:24 PM

Vosko,

I could get you a 99 with no probs at all, the only thing is your import tax, in England i have to pay 17.5% VAT and 10% Duty on each vehicle ( what a rip off eh 27.5% tax!). I dont know about american import tax...... and in Enland they have to pass a test called the SVA which just means the speedo is converted to MPH and a foglight is needed on the back ( aswell as good brakes, tyres etc....) and this costs around £400 - £500. I could get you one very easily if you wanted to deal with tax's etc.. or i would have to get myself an agent in America to do all these things.

Cheers

Nice car!

Wish I had a 97. I would never figure out how to drive on the wrong side of the road though. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Welcome to the board and I hope you stick around.

Yeaa baby, He put the ker in fucker baby yea!!

vosko 01-18-2003 06:31 PM

how much guesstimate US pricing.... i'm interested !

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 06:36 PM

vosko,

Well i would sell mine for around 15k on the road in Englnad, that includes all tax's, SVA test etc.... so with out those extras it would be a lot cheaper than the 15k i would sell it for here. Gimme an idea of Year, Spec, Miles, Standard or Modded. I'll go take a look at previous cars from the last 2 weeks and get you some prices and pictures, it'll only take me 15-30 mins.

Cheers

(I can send them of board if you wish.)

vosko 01-18-2003 06:38 PM

i guess 1996-2000. preferably 99-00. you don't have to go too crazy i am very interested though. i just realized 99's are now 4 years old!!!!

j9fd3s 01-18-2003 06:39 PM

haha, now we have to figure out how to register it!

mike

vosko 01-18-2003 06:40 PM

i know

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 06:56 PM

ok,

I will e-mail you the pics vosko but prices are below, dont forget they dont include any taxes etc.... they include all documents( de-reg, Bill of lading etc...) shipping, agent fees and the car of course. And did you know all jap R-7,s have more BHP than the standard UK ones, dont know if this is the same in America, standard is 265 bhp in Japan if i recall correct.

1. 13,000kms, Blue RX-7 Type R, 2002, £17,000

2. 55,000kms, Red RX-7 Touring X, 2001 £14000

3. 16,000kms, Silver Type-R but with many modds, 1998 £11,500

the prices pretty much accurate to within a few hunred pounds.

Hope thats of some help.

vosko 01-18-2003 07:05 PM

what is the conversion for USD = UK pound ?

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 07:14 PM

It is at 1.61 but was at 1.54 in November.

£17,000 = $27,000

£14,000 = $22,500

£11,500 = $18,000

They are all at todays rate of $1.61.

Adam_UK 01-18-2003 08:29 PM

The car sold a week ago so i couldn't get any more info, but before i buy anycar i have a full sheet of all mods, hifi, scratches or dents, any replaced panels etc.... i only buy high graded cars which are in near perfect condition, as a norm any modded one could be from exhaust + Induction kit to FMIC, injectors, Single conversion etc.. some are really extreme with fast and the furious style body kits on them, not my style but some people like it.

Cheers

Adam.

vosko 01-18-2003 08:31 PM

i like the blue one but at the current time i can only afford one $30k + rx7.... the one i have currently :bigthumg:

vosko 01-18-2003 08:46 PM

that last one sounds REAL nice. if i were to get one. i'd want a stock 99-02 though...... :bigok:

again thank you!!!

m477 01-18-2003 08:51 PM

Sweet merciful crap, $27k for a 2002 FD. :yum: I would buy one in a second if you could drive them in the US...

94touring 01-19-2003 11:56 AM

Yeah multiply by 1.6 to get US dollars. Make sure you talk to your DMV and insurance company about actually getting an rx7 in the 96+ years. As some of you know I imported a mini from the UK. However depending on the year of the car it may be illegal to have that particular car in the US unless it is 25 years or older, so some people have them re-vinned. There is an agency that does paper work to clear these things up as well, which is a small fee. Every state is a little different and has stiffer laws to get by, just do your homework before you get it here.

Silver Ninety Three 01-19-2003 11:57 AM

interesting

94touring 01-19-2003 11:57 AM

I also had to have my mini titled and registered in Florida so I didn't have to go through an inspection here in NC. That way I just transfered the title over with no problems or jail time....hehe.
