In Europe, Opel, Vauxhall, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, BMW, Citroen, Peugeot all produce turbocharged diesel compacts. They are an economical, reliable form of transportation and they are very very common over there. Not only that, but you can get some half-decent power numbers from them. Notably, torque numbers.
A low displacement diesel sounds pretty neat...well not mine with its bloody kazoo type exhaust, but with a turbo and BOV its like driving across the interstate in a Mack truck.
Only with nimble autoX wearthy handling and compactedness that makes you realise the car was made for the narrow and congested european streets.
Engine breaking is pretty fun too! BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM
