Conspiracy's are far more deep rooted then that, we aren't going to be knowingly involved in any conspiracy's cause we either aren't important enough or simply can't be trusted.
Let's think about it, who you going to have do your dirty work, some guy with internet access who constantly talks on web forums and has a social life, or some loaner with no friends and not much contact with the outside world, who even if he did decided to tell anyone would just go "Man that dude is crazy".

Yes I would say a "true conspiracy" is rare and the number of people it directly effects are probably few, however the indirect effects could be very wide spread.
If you think about the shear number of people it would take to pull off something like the "JFK Assasination" it seems almost impossible. Take something like the landing on the moon, few people would really have to be involved to pull something like that off.
Who knows if either are conspiracy's or maybe they were just used as part of some scheme to make us concentrate on one piece of the pie rather then the whole pie itself, we don't know.
Look at the "Bigfoot conspiracy" now they have some guy that says it was a hoax on his deathbed and no one believes him... see what I mean.

The alien conspiracy has to exist, let's face it if there truly are aliens, they can't announce to the people that we have aliens flying in and out of the atmosphere sticking probes in people's asses.
