I grew up in Kingsville (south of Corpus) Lots of long straight roads, perfect for rotary cars if you ask me. Good luck. I think you might be happier just building the engines than dealing with all the bullshit behind running a business. Being a business owner myself I am well aware of all the headaches. Hey Ito,
Hey, best of luck in all you do. I recently had to create a business plan for my Entrepreneurship class in College, and I chose to create a rotary shop here in upstate NY; "Orange County Rotary". LOL I Actually mentioned that the famous Judge Ito would come to my shop and yadda yadda, I just used it to sound more convincing and my instructor actually asked me if you were a real person, and why you would come up here :P. I told him you'd work solely on the engines and wouldn't have to deal with customers.
After all was said and done, it sounds like a neat idea, and for you to do that but down in Texas with a reputable shop sounds like a great idea. Good luck in all that you do. Hopefully I won't be needing to call Gotham for a while now (Motor's strong!).
And, while Texas may have awesome straights, I think the area I live in is what the rx-7 and rotary engines were designed for: All those 45 degree inclines up and down with super long/short crazy turns around the mountains/lakes/rivers/streams up here

Yeah drag racing is a little more suited for your skills as well. You start building road racing engines and they'll make you put your die grinder away!
That is unless you were to do 12a's again. I still think bridge ported 12a's are aloud to race in some classes.
